PA Media Group is a diverse group of businesses, built around three core divisions; Content, Data and Services.
Our Services Division has grown to include businesses such as; PA Images, PA Training, Globelynx, Sticky Content, TNR and StreamAMG. These businesses have widened our portfolio into serving both the media and corporate markets.
The Globelynx business is described as ‘The Home of the Expert’, a community which connects experts to global broadcasters. The business is built around an extensive range of trusted experts who are made available for analysis and interview on many subjects and languages. Experts are connected via a reliable video network and delivered in broadcast quality.
Job Purpose:
Globelynx was acquired by PA Group in 2011 and has grown from its UK foundation into a truly international business.
Today, Globelynx provides over 500 live “down the line” interviews to global broadcasters from experts as far afield as Los Angeles to Sydney and covers topics ranging from financial markets to hard news.
There is now a need to upgrade the role specifically focusing on driving further business growth from existing and new markets. The successful candidate will need to be capable of making fundamental decisions around markets, products, people, processes and technologies. Reporting to the COO, we are now looking to bring an experienced and exceptionally high calibre Managing Director to the Globelynx business to build on the foundations already in place. The role is a key strategic appointment and will play an integral role in setting and driving the execution of the Globelynx business vision.
To achieve this, the Managing Director will be a strong internal voice, owning and driving the future strategy to support the continuing evolution of the business.
With the full support of the Group’s Executive Team, the Managing Director will have ultimate responsibility for the trading performance of the Globelynx business and measured through monthly management accounts together with four board meeting per year.
The Managing Director will have bold ideas about the future of the business, coupled with extremely strong commercial, operational and leadership skills. The role will also be accountable for the quality of the service to its customers ensuring all aspects of the Globelynx operation are optimised.
Leadership Skills:
The Managing Director will need to be a strong and inspiring leader, with a high level of credibility in Media, Sales and Technology with deep understanding of related markets.
They will be an outstanding people manager who will set the highest standards in hiring, retention and employee satisfaction. They will act as a mentor to their reports, coaching them and helping them to drive exceptional performance within their respective teams.
The Managing Director will attract, train and develop top talent across the Globelynx team, as expanding and upskilling the team will be a particular focus as the business expands. You will also be a trusted advisor and sounding board for the COO.
More broadly, they will be seen by the board, management, and indeed the entire PA Group organisation, as a deeply credible and trusted figure, and a key asset for the company.
