PA Group takes full ownership of Sticky Content
22 August 2016: PA Group – the parent company of the Press Association (PA), the UK’s leading multimedia news agency – has acquired the remaining 20% stake in the content marketing agency, Sticky Content, from its founder Catherine Toole.
The move follows PA Group’s initial investment in 80% of the business in October 2013, as part of a long-term strategy to diversify its business and become the preeminent provider of cross-platform content to customers across a range of sectors.
Catherine Toole, who founded the business in 1997, will remain with Sticky Content as a non-executive director and business consultant.
The acquisition comes as Sticky Content, under the leadership of Managing Director Emily Shelley, continues to pursue long-term partnerships with clients, supporting them in the development and implementation of content strategies. In recent months the business has secured contracts with Coca Cola, Travelodge and UBS, and renewed long-standing relationships with Lloyds Banking Group and DixonsCarphone.
Catherine Toole, non-executive director at Sticky Content, said:
“Sticky Content is entering a new era as it seeks to retain and grow key accounts, and stay ahead of digital best practice. Our relationship with the PA Group has been invaluable in implementing that strategy, through the addition of production resource and scale.
“I look forward to remaining involved with Sticky Content as the business continues to grow as part of the PA Group.”
Clive Marshall, Chief Executive of PA Group, said:
“Sticky Content is a natural addition to the PA Group as we strive to meet the growing demand for cross-platform content and services from a variety of customers. I am delighted that Catherine will remain a part of the business as it continues to thrive as a leading provider of digital content strategy and creation.”
