PA partners with Facebook to curate election content
London 31st March, 2015: Press Association (PA), the UK’s leading multimedia news agency and digital content provider, has partnered with Facebook to curate the most interesting and shareable social media content for its 2015 Election page.
Facebook’s ‘UK Politics’ community page will be powered by PA’s politics and social team who will select the best election stories and updates from across the web, combining multi-media content from publishers big and small, parties and leaders, key influencers as well as posts and statuses from Facebook’s own users. The page will be updated with relevant posts, images and video on Facebook, as well as some updates from the PA’s election wire and SNAP.PA, PA’s new digital service that will provide an alternative view of the election.
Nick Wrenn, Facebook’s Head of Media Partnerships EMEA said: “PA is an ideal news organisation to run the Facebook UK Politics page because of its commitment to impartiality and balance, and its ability to curate quality content from a wide range of journalists, analysts and public figures. Millions rely on Facebook every day as a source for news, shareable and entertaining content. This page will be a place for people to like, comment and share all the latest updates from the UK election.”
Pete Clifton, PA’s Editor-in-Chief, said: “We are delighted to be overseeing Facebook’s UK Politics page, ensuring it is a compelling mix of the most exciting and informative content in the run up to the 2015 General Election. PA will be at the heart of reporting the UK elections with its dedicated team of political journalists, and Facebook provides another fantastic platform to showcase that expertise.”
PA will start managing the page from March 30th.
